John Moores Painting Prize – Winner’s Event

Congratulations to Rose Wylie, winner of the 2014 John Moores Painting Prize. Rose began painting in the 1950s and she won for her picture PV Windows and Floorboards. The winner was announced on Friday 19 September and here are some photos of the event. You can read our feature about the five shortlisted paintings by clicking HERE. Alexei Sayle made an excellent film about the prize, which was broadcast by BBC4 on 21 September. If you missed it you might still be able to catch it on BBC iPlayer. You can still see all 50 paintings selected for exhibition (including the prizewinners) at the Walker Art Gallery until 30 November.
